Fans of dark historical fiction and compelling graphic storytelling have a captivating title to explore. Somna, co-created by renowned comic creators Becky Cloonan and Tula Lotay, takes readers deep into the oppressive atmosphere of the 1600s witch hunts. Set against a backdrop of strict puritanical societal norms, the story explores one woman’s intense journey as she seeks an erotic and surreal escape from the rigid expectations surrounding her everyday life.
The narrative blends atmospheric dread with deeply personal themes, utilizing the talent of two of the comic industry's most respected creators. Becky Cloonan, recognized for her celebrated narrative craft and artistic style, pairs with Tula Lotay's distinct, vivid illustrations to bring this dark historical era to life. Together, they weave a striking balance between psychological tension and raw emotion, making Somna a stand-out experience for comic enthusiasts looking for mature, thought-provoking stories.
