In an interview with The Game Business, Remedy’s new CEO Jean-Charles Gaudechon said Alan Wake and Control have not yet reached their full commercial potential, adding that both franchises “should have sold more.” Gaudechon, who previously worked at Electronic Arts on major series like Battlefield and FIFA, said Remedy should continue making its signature creative and unusual games, but also think bigger about how its IPs can grow.

He believes Alan Wake and Control can reach audiences far beyond their current player base, and pointed to Remedy’s deal with Annapurna as one way to make that happen through potential movie and TV adaptations. According to Gaudechon, cross-media projects could help the studio build stronger communities around its franchises before simply focusing on making more games.
