Back in January 2025, Sony canceled plans for GAAS at Bluepoint Games and Bend Studio. The former was working on a connected title in the God of War universe, and the latter on a new license.
Known by the code name “Mirror Pond,” the title from the creators of Days Gone was likely a third-person military shooter. Animations revealed by the MP1st website suggest the presence of drones, turrets, and detachable projectiles mounted on the character's forearm. A screenshot shows a hub that could have accommodated several players before the start of a game.
Mirror Pond also featured an open world based on the systems designed for Days Gone. More than 30 types of enemies and 100 different firearms were apparently planned. The Decima Engine, used in games such as Horizon and Death Stranding, was clearly being used.
In any case, the project did not seem very innovative. Its cancellation was reportedly due to a lack of significant progress in development.
